Tiger's Eye Tumbled Stones

Tiger’s Eye is fibrous crocidolite that has been stained by iron, giving its characteristic golden-brown colour. Unstained pieces are originally blue in colour, and are called Blue Tiger’s Eye or Hawk’s Eye. Renowned for its shimmering, beautiful chatoyancy, Tiger’s Eye was prized by ancient civilisations. It is a strongly protective stone, and was carried by the ancient Romans into battle for courage and to deflect weapons. Within ancient China it was believed that Tiger’s Eye could restore the balance of Yin and Yang forces, and that it symbolised the sacred tiger. Practitioners of Voodoo used Tiger’s Eye Crystals in sacred rituals.

The Egyptians believed it symbolised divine vision, and used it for their God’s eyes in statues. They believed Tiger’s Eye combined the power of the Sun God Ra and the Earth God Geb. This combination of sun and earth energies is said to create a high vibrational state that is very grounding. Tiger’s Eye harmonises well with all other Quartz family crystals, as well as Malachite and Charoite.
