The Carnival at the End of the World Tarot Deck & Guidebook

Madame Lulu presents The Carnival at the End of the World, a contemporary tarot deck and guidebook for uncertain times. Created by Nicholas Kahn & Richard Selesnick, the collaborative artist team behind Fledermaus Workshop and The Tarot of the Drowning World. This second edition of The Carnival at the End of the World includes a new box, new card backs and 6 bonus images.

The Carnival at the End of the World Tarot keeps to the structure of the Rider Waite Smith, however the iconography of the cards has been re-interpreted and updated for our modern times. Writer, artist and medium Sarah Falkner has collaborated with Kahn & Selesnick to channel Madame Lulu's Book of Fate - a guidebook and travelogue specifically created for the interpretation and practical use of the Carnival at the End of the World Tarot Deck.

The cast of the Carnival’s Truppe Fledermaus star as the Major Arcana’s archetypes, and throughout the Minor Arcana’s four elemental suits, Earth, Air, Fire and Water which show the impact of climate change amid sinking islands, arsenals of armaments, blazing forests, and melting icecaps. Painted in watercolour and gouache, the original set of 78 paintings was completed in July 2017. The cards are printed on beautiful high quality playing card stock with curved corners for maximum durability.
